Multi-Function Tester MFT-D2x
The MFT consists of an ergonomically designed universal portable testing device for handling nearly all functions of vehicle electronic diagnosis. The high-end unit is intended to be used in manufacturing test applications with high production rates.
Because the diagnostic link of modern cars (often named as OBD-II link) is normally placed in the cabin (near the steering wheel or in the dashboard) the MFT is designed to be safely placed on the steering wheel during the vehicle diagnosis.
For operator guidance, the MFT is equipped with a LC display, a keyboard and additional function keys. A radio module (Bluetooth, WLAN) enables the communication with external units (handheld terminal, ECOS measurement system, etc.). Furthermore a built-in barcode scanner is available to help identify vehicle parts and modules quickly.
The MFT is primarily used for the diagnosis of control units. For the communication with the various ECU’s it is equipped with a VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface). The VCI has a built in micro-controller and allows access to four (4) communication lines (K-lines) in parallel. Optionally it incorporates bus interfaces such as CAN, CLASS-II, etc.
The transmission of measurements and test results to the host systems is by means of wireless communication through a WLAN radio interface or by infrared communication.
The device is prepared for software applications that meet the following standards:
M-VCI (ISO 22900-1, ISO 22900-2)
ASAM MCD2D/ODX(ISO 22901) for im- & export of diagnostic data and driving the internal MCD3D kernel
The MFT-D2x is our latest generation of MFT but it is already extensively used throughout the diagnosis chain.
